I have a MacBook Air with Mac OS Sierra installed and an iPhone 5s with iOS 10. I cannot get Universal Clipboard to work. I am logged into the same iCloud account on both devices and have bluetooth enabled as well. Any suggestions?

What year is the MacBook Air? How far away are the two devices? How long from pressing copy on one device and paste on the other device are you waiting? Is Continuity/Handoff enabled on both devices?
It works! Before I was immediately pasting the clipboard on my iPhone after copying on the MacBook. This time I waited a couple seconds and it worked! Thanks for your advice!
