OK so I am having trouble connecting to ANY P2P programs whatsoever on OS X. I have tried Acquisition, XNap, eDonkey, Poisoned, SoulseekX, etc.

I would like to avoid the morality issue here as well. I download music, and if I like it I buy it.

The confusing thing is, all the PCs in the same dorm building can access Kazaa Lite, which apparently uses port 21, and if not that then port 80. I have tried changing ports on the Mac programs but it does not work. This is really frustrating as I am not in the States and wish to keep up to date with some TV shows and music I cannot get here, and P2P is one of my only options.

I have tried using terminal to flush all firewall rules, based on advice from MacNN, but still nothing.

Anything I can do to get my Mac downloading music and movies? Or am I stuck being one of the only ones without P2P access?

Thanks!

Justin

I will be following this thread very carefully, as I am in the exact same situation. One thing I haven't tried is disabling the built in firewall to Mac OS X. If you disable that and then change the port, do that work?

Hopefully, we'll get a meaningful answer on this.
