Overall rating (4/5)
Worth buying overall, probably not at $8 until updated though.
Music (1/5)
The only music that plays is in the main menu, iPod music can't be played in background it fades away immediately.
SFX (3/5)
Not very interesting, and empty without music to accompany.
Interface (2/5)
The interface works, but feels hard to use. Certain things should be easier.
Animation (2/5)
Main menu has annoying animations to bring in the buttons, gameplay animations are minimal.
Graphics (menus 5/5, game 3/5)
Menus look nice, but in-game isn't breaking any new ground.
Gameplay (4/5)
Solid game mechanics
Originality (1/5)
Though solid, there's nothing special. No special strategic elements
Strategy (3/5)
Unlike other tbs's, there's no walls, few strategic points that are critical. It does have a basic variety of terrain, which affects each unit differently.
Storyline (3/5)
There is a campaign mode, with an intro to each mission. It doesn't feel very deep, but I'm not very far yet.
Content (4/5)
There is a decent variety in terrain, and each of the three races has their own unique set of units. There's also a lot of maps. Finally, there are five gamplay modes including online.
Controls (4/5)
Needs a few minor tweaks, but none of my taps have missed yet. They're basic and work.
It's no advance wars or Starcraft tbs port, but it's still fun. But if you don't catch it at $1, wait for a sale or update. It has the potential to be worth it's full price. I'm definitely enjoying it more than reign of swords.
