iPhone Unjailbreak without iTunes?

Is there a way to do this? iPhone 5, iOS 6.1 using the Evasi0n 6 jailbreak.

I went to the Apple store yesterday to replace a broken Lightning cable and the genius noticed that my battery was swelling on my iPhone. It's a no charge under AC+ replacement and she did not seem to be bothered (much less interested) in my obvious jailbreak.

But if I can, I'd rather restore the phone before taking it in today (I made another appointment).

But here's my problem. All of the Macs I own are PowerPC (iPhone 5 won't sync with PowerPC Macs and iTunes 10.6.3 is the highest I can use) and the two PCs I do own are in pieces right now. The closest PC or Intel Mac I could use is at work, but I'm on vacation and I'd really rather not go in unless I need to.

My understanding is that attempting to restore on my iPhone will simply force a reboot of the phone that does nothing (because of the jailbreak). Without access to iTunes is this not possible. If it's not, then fine, I'll just take my chances, but if there is a more or less easy way to do this without iTunes I thought I'd ask.
 
Yeah, that's what I thought. I know I will have to update it to iOS 7, but that's immaterial at the moment since the iPhone in question would be getting turned in to Apple.

Thanks guys! Appreciate it. I've backed up my tweaks and made my iCloud backup. I'm hoping the replacement is iOS 6. I may delay a bit. The phone is functional still and I didn't even realize the battery was bulging until yesterday.

You mean via iTunes in the store?

That's a thought. I think what I'm going to do though is restore it at work when I return on Wednesday and take it to the Apple store after work. I'll jailbreak the phone when I go back in to work on Thursday and then restore my tweaks.

I'm only 15 minutes from work and I have the key and permission to be there, but this is the first vacation I've had in six years and I'm not really interested in going back there until I have to.

If my phone breaks before Wednesday night, well then I won't have to worry about restoring a broken phone, LOL!
 
Are they going to replace the whole phone or open it and replace just the battery?
What I'm planning on doing tomorrow when I go to Apple is remove all my hacks.
And just stick the cydia icon inside a folder deep on the 3rd page filled with other apps so they don't see it.
Everything else will look and act as a stock iphone.
I don't think they will bother searching or even notice anything.

LOL, well, I may have two things going for me.

1. I'm on Sprint.
2. I've got the 64GB model.

My wife got a Sprint iPhone 5, 64GB at this time last year with iOS 6.0.1 on it. So, who knows. :D

As I understand it, it will be a replacement of the phone itself. That's what the genius said. I suspect that that is because the battery is actually pushing up on the screen. I'm seeing part of the side of the screen that should ordinarily be hidden by the metal band. So, I'm guessing that it's either not repair eligible or my store does not have that capability yet.

The genius that I interacted with yesterday seemed entirely unconcerned about the fact that my phone was jailbroken. She spotted the swelling immediately while my phone was being taken out of my pocket. I hadn't even handed it to her, so based on that and the fact that she took my phone in the back says she had to be aware of the jailbreak. Just switching my screen on would have immediately told her it was jailbroken.

But she told me right of the bat that I could replace it because of the battery. I'm hoping I end up with her again on Wednesday, but if not, at least the phone will have been restored.

You'll get iOS 7. This time last year, iOS 6 *was* the current version. iOS 7 is the current version, as iOS 8 is still in beta and will be released within a couple days of the iPhone 6 release next month. Their refurb/replacement devices are all refreshed with the current iOS revision.
 
Well I'm pretty sure they are only replacing the battery not the phone, this is what i heard based off that new apple program with the messed up ip5 batteries; also just put it into safe mode and they wouldn't even know it is jailbroken.

It's been a while, but doesn't the phone say safe mode at the top if I remember correctly.

Easiest thing would be to poof things IMO.

Just to be clear, my battery is not eligible for replacement (I checked my serial number) under that program.

I'm not sure what exact defect that program covers, but my battery problem I think is an entirely different matter. It's swelling and pushing up on the screen.

As to iOS 7 and those of you welcoming me to it – well all I can do is hope. But if I do end up with you guys, at least now I know there are black themes out there.
 
So I got my iphone 5 replaced by Apple a few hours ago for the bad battery issue.
I was still under applecare so they swapped the phone because they had no more batteries left.
There was many others there tonight that were out of warranty and they wouldn't exchange the whole phone for them. They told them to come back in a week or 2 cause they ran out of batteries.
So those of you that are out of warranty and your phone qualifies for the battery program they will just open your phone and replace the battery. But call them before you go in to make sure they have the batteries in stock since most Apple Stores this week all over the country are out. Many iphone 5 owners are eligible for this program so their supplies are low.

Four hours to go until my appointment time. Everything backed up and iPhone restored to iOS 7.1.2 in preparation.

Had to put it in DFU mode.

Bye bye iOS 6.1 and jailbreak…for now.

Post back later tonight to let you guys know what I got.

Thanks. They've already said it would be a replacement so that I'm not worried about. I just didn't want to give them any justification for not doing it because I came back at a later time and a different genius objected to my jailbreak.

I'm really hoping I get the same genius I got on Saturday.

Question though…If they wanted to poke around to see if you were jailbroken, wouldn't a simple Spotlight search do the job? I know I've put a search in before and Spotlight brought Cydia right up in the results. If I were a genius, absent any other Apple trade secrets, I'd probably check that way. Simple and fast.

Good question.
I went to settings/genera/spotlight search and unchecked everything.
So when I search for cydia nothing comes up besides search web.
But if they went back in those settings, enabled applications search then search for cydia they would find it.
But I doubt many will waste time or bother with all that.
Place is always packed and they try to get everyone in and out as quick as possible.
