I tried to search for this subject but the search option is freezing my web browser.

In order to unjailbreak a phone and un-unlock (LOL) it, do I just plug it into iTunes and click Restore?

I have to take it to the Apple store for a broken speaker and it's still under warranty.

Will restoring remove ALL traces of the jailbreak and unlock?

If you want to make sure that all traces of jailbreak are in fact removed, you should set it up as a new phone instead of restoring from a backup. Depending on what jailbreak stuff you installed, some changes made by jailbreak apps may be stored in backup files and be put back on the phone if you restore from backup.

Yeah, I'd be restoring it from scratch. I just got the phone 2 days ago so I've never done a backup.

why is that?

You'll be better of putting the phone in DFU first, then restore

how do you go about that?
i just restored my iphone and there's one residual piece of evidence that it was jailbroken, the battery percentage next to the meter.
i'm about to try this reset all settings button under restore, because other than that percentage there's no evidence of it having been out of jail.
if that doesnt work, i'll do the "restore all data and settings" and if THAT doesnt work, well then this dfu mode restore could be quite handy...

*edit*
so restoring the settings from the phone fixed it. i guess sbsettings just switched an inaccessible, but official setting.
of course, before that point, i did have to do a full restore in itunes, i was just afraid the jailbroken backup would muck things up.
anything else i need to do?
