Hey guys,

I recently just jailbroke my iPhone 3G and installed installous and appsync 3.1 and also blacksnow. I then downloaded some ipa and sync it into my iPhone via iTunes.

All was well, but suddenly when i check my usage on my prepaid account, I had no more money as there was "GPRS internet browsing" at random times being charged AFTER my jailbreak. Any idea if installous/appsync uses data, or could it be something else??

Thanks a lot for any help.

The iPhone is built to use data almost constantly. Some of the built in apps and functions such as mail, push notifications and other apps access the net on their own.

Jailbreaking doesn't stop internet access. If you want to stop data from being used, install SBSettings in Cydia and disable edge. This is about the easiest way to do this and still have the option to turn on data when you want.

By the way, installous and appsync are kind of prohibited from being talked about here because it involves cracked apps.

Hi, thank you so much for your reply.

I'm terribly sorry about the prohibited discussions.
