I recently contacted O2, who have said they can not officially unlock my iPhone 3Gs, however they will aprove it being unlatched in country (I am in Abu Dhabi).
However, this is not something I can find anything on anywhere... I can find some information but nothing that says how or where!!
My phone is on 3.1.2, are they meaning "unlock" or is this a semi official route as this email, see below says it is also communicated from Apple.
I'd like to confirm that we've spoken to Apple about this and they've confirmed there is no official unlatching service available. However, you can have this unlatched by using an independent source in Abu Dhabi. In addition to this some other network SIM cards can be used in the iPhone, however, not all of the services on the iPhone may work as the iPhone is designed to be used with O2 and the settings on other networks to vary to ours.
Any ideas gents, I can't find anything!!
Cheers
