I've heard that they lower your speeds down to dial up if you go over a certain limit. I think if you pay more, you will be able to download more, but I am not sure.

Okay. Do you have HughesNet yourself? I'm in a tough spot and I need a true UNLIMITED internet service.

What are your requirements?

Due to the nature of the connection, you will not find truly unlimited bandwidth satellite internet for a fixed price, period. The only thing that will get you close is if you directly negotiate with a VSAT provider for a fixed price for a bandwidth cap over what's physically possible on that connection. You'll be paying anywhere between $1200 to $6000/month for a low end connection if you go this route.

Thanks for your help, but I can't pay anywhere near that much monthly for Internet.

That's why I asked you about your requirements. Most people don't need unlimited bandwidth. What you need to do is figure your requirements and then make a decision based on that instead of going for this nebulous concept of "unlimited" or "unlimited satellite."

If you really need insane amounts of bandwidth and have a phone with a landline, it might be possible for you to just get T-1. That'll actually run out cheaper than trying to go over what's usually the single most expensive option.
