I'm thinking of buying a pay go iphone 3G tomorrow in the UK. Can someone please give me a concise reply outlining if it can be unlocked etc - the basic in's and out's in bullet form. I want to use it on T-mobile UK. I've looked at the forums and I'm alittle lost where to start - need a starting point.

Many thanks.

Hardware unlocks work.

Oh. Ok. Google turboSIM. That's one of your options. I've used two different hardware SIM unlocks- the first one died randomly one day after about 3 months, the second one worked fine about 4 days out of 5, and would quit working on the fifth and I had to restart, and resync before it would work again. I don't not suggest going this route. I'm gonna wait on the 3G (I have t-mo).

Oh. Ok. Google turboSIM.

I have t-mo now also -- I couldn't take another day of ATT ... I just put a turbo sim in my 3g and it works great (once you get it into the phone - surely removing it will be a worse experience), with one major exception -- not able to sync with iTunes. I'll have to search around to see if there is a work-around for that.

Luckily I still had my 2g laying around and the jailbreak unlock worked great and I can sync - this is using 2.1 and iTunes 8
