I'm looking at purchasing an iphone on eBay, but I have heard of people purchasing the phone only to find it is unusable due to bad esn. Is there a way to "clean" the bad esn? For T-Mobile USA? Thanks.

I doubt so. It's bad esn for a reason (stolen, unpaid, lost..)

If it would be possible, it wouldnt work in USA only outside of USA.

Have a nice day

if it is unlocked and not blacklisted on tmobile, it should work fine. ask the seller before buying for the esn. it must be an iPhone 5 or newer for this to work, or if it's gsm. you can use a site to check the esn/imei. just google imei/esn check. is the phone a cdma, or a gsm phone? and what model?

I'm looking to get a t-mobile iphone 5s. In case the IMEI is blocked, I was wondering if there is an online service or way to unblock the IMEI...?

I did the same, just ask the seller for the number and call to t-mobile to check if it's clean.

there is not, but if its say, a verizon iPhone, it might not be blacklisted on tmobile. you would have to call. what version of the 5s is it? i mean what carrier?

Clean an esn w soap and water.
Nah sorry you are better just buying a new phone unless you can go to the store w the owner of the phone and set it up right there I guess

I always love these threads... There's no reason why someone would have a blacklisted device unless:

- Unpaid bill: pay the bill

- Stolen phone: return the phone to the owner

- Insurance claim: you were already repaid for the phone

To ask people how to un-blacklist here is no different than asking how to steal apps or discussing illegal file sharing.
