Unlock Iphone 3gs 3.1?

Hi

I know the jailbreak is not out yet... but I can't use my phone at all because it is locked at fido and I'm using a rogers sim....

Is there atleast a way to unlock it?

If you're on a Mac and download PwnageTools, but you can't unlock the 3GS.

As of now, there are no tools to unlock the 3GS. Only for 2G iPhone and 3G.

I can unlock my 3gs????

But what can I do now?! I just received my phone thru the mail with the 3.1 on it....:mad: I hate to wait again..
 
OMG THAT SUX...F***** corporations who lock their phones..

When is the unlock expected?!?

Be aware that it may be a long wait. The unlock for previous basebands have taken around six months, and not all of them have been unlocked. Apple has also really tightened up the baseband with this release; it is by no means certain that there will ever be an unlock for it.
 
Until the JB for 3GS comes out, you cannot downgrade the firmware as Apple has quit signing the 3.0 and 3.0.1 IPSW's for 3GS.

Once the 3GS has been updated to official Apple 3.1 firmware, then your baseboard is locked and at this point doesn't appear to be unlock-able. So only official iPhone sims will work.

I guess you have 3 options:

Go to AT&T or other official carrier
Use as iPod
Paperweight mode
 
OH GOD.... I think I'll just commit suicide.:(

I waited 2 months to get it and now I receive a 3.1 model, :eek: I'm the unluckiest man alive!
 
You should probably send it back - if you have to have an unlocked model you may need to buy through eBay or buy.com or someone like that. Like others have said, it's possible this version might never be unlocked.
 
Thanks. I had used a dev team (sorry don't know which one now) to unlock an Ipod Touch pre v3.0 but I had not found a dev team's work who had yet cracked v3.1 3gs (which finally came today after over eight weeks.. thanks Sonera Finland!). So I will use a bit more patience and hope that those cleverer than I make God Speed with their unlocking attempts.
