These websites are scams. The software to jailbreak and unlock your iphone is completely free if you wish to download it, and these scam websites make you pay then offer you exactly what you could have got for free. Go to blackra1n.com. Download the jailbreak application and it will install an app on your iPhone that will give you options to install apps such as cydia and blacksn0w. Choose Cydia to download packages and choose blacksn0w. Blacksn0w is what will unlock your iphone, and cydia allows you to install jailbreak apps.

Hope this helps :)

WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T PAY ANYBODY! IF YOU NEED MORE HELP OR CLARIFICATION JUST ASK ME!

hi Xanadeath,

thanks so much for your post - sorry but im new in "how to unlock a iPhone" - does blackra1n.com also activate my iPhone?? Do i have to Update my Phone first to the latest Firmware??

Thanks a lot,
Waltex

Oh... actually... if it's brand new then you won't be able to jaillbreak/unlock it... well you will, but the second you turn off your iphone or restart it or it goes dead or ever turns off the jailbreak will go away..... it's tethered... temporary......

No, the jailbreak doesn't "go away." You just need to plug your phone into your computer and restart it with blackra1n, and all your apps, data, media, etc will be there, including all the jailbreak stuff.

One thing that I'd like clarified....if I use SBSettings (or any other program) that does a RESPRING of SpringBoard....that it doesn't require redo'ing the tethered running of blackra1n.

I understand the issue of if the battery goes dead or if I actually power off/on, or if I use SBSettings to do a 'reboot'.

I can live with a tethered jailbreak (and hopefully it won't always be), but I do respring often to help with memory hogging programs (my favorite is Slacker).

Thanks!

Respringing doesn't require running blackra1n, only if you power off or reboot.

I have an ipod touch 3g on a tethered jailbreak since blackra1n first came out, and have had to rerun blackra1n only two or three times since I've had it, always because I installed something from cydia that updated mobile substrate.

Ok. Great. I've not seen it directly stated about a respring....everyone seems to start getting respringing and rebooting and power off/on confused when the topics are flying.

Looks like I might get me a 32gb 3Gs, and hand my 16gb 3Gs (July version) down to my wife to replace her old 2G 8gb then. The 2G is not getting very good battery life now after 3 years....
