Unlock iphone for other at&t sim cards please help

ok so im just wondering if i do unlock a iphone but i just want to use a differnt att sim card will the internet still work?(i will get a data package) not wifi but the edge stuff. i bought an unlocked razr a few years ago and the internet didnt work. but im sure with all these apps and stuff it will right?

i would just pay the $20 extra a month but i cant long story

yes, the "Internet" will work if you unlock and go with a preffered phone service. It is possible that you will have to manually enter some basic settings.
