So here's the dig: Bought my 2nd gen iphone and I want to unlock my first gen iphone for my relative overseas. The original iphone has software 2.0 and I was able to use PwnageTool to do what it does, but I don't think it unlocked, here's why. I connect it to iTunes (using a test SIM card from another phone) and it welcomes me with the activation screen. I don't suppose that screen was suppose to come up if it was unlocked, right?

I don't suppose I want to go thru w/ the activation, right?

When you went through the pwnage tool did you select that you were a 'legit' or 'non-legit' owner?

I did use the Pwnage tool and select "legit." It was an option that wasn't checked that didn't allow the phone to be unlocked. Found the answer on the Pwnage Tool 2.0 thread.

Thanks.
