Hi, today im going to buy a white iphone 16g but there is a problem, i have services with tmobile, i want to know if i can unlock the iphone and/or be able to use it with t mobile, if there is a way to unlock it, because i just bought the Blackberry 8120 and i really like it, but i want something more "cute" and what is the difference between 1.1.1 and the 2.0.2 or something like that, what is jailbreak and if someone can help me to see if its worth it having it or not... i will really appreciate it
:p
thanks a lot!

1. There is no software unlock for the iPhone 3G. There are some hardware unlocks but reports on reliability of those are questionable.

2. The iPhone 3G will only use the EDGE data connection on T-Mobile. T-Mobile's 3G service uses the 1700 Mhz band, the iPhone 3G only works on the 850, 1900 and 2100 Mhz bands.

3. When you get the iPhone 3G you are required to sign a 2 year agreement with AT&T. You can cancel this but in order to keep the iPhone you have to wait 30 days and there is a $175 early termination fee.

Given all of the above you are better off getting 1st gen iPhone off of eBay or CL which can be unlocked. It will cost you less and the only difference is that it will have the aluminum case instead of the white plastic you want and will not have GPS.

Sorry. Still not understanding what bluetooth has to do with this. The 1st gen has bluetooth.

Just trying to understand what you are trying to say.

Erm, i don't really know much about other services, but basically, u were asking about iPhone firmwares and 1.1.1 is the older version (obviously -.-) and 2.0.2 is the newer one. Jailbreak is a term that iPhone users use to enable the iPhone to download 3rd party applications from Cydia or Installer etc. iPhone that are fresh from the box can't do so, and it is like having a computer without any softwares.

In my experience it will also have much worse audio.

Glad yours sounds good, mine had the latest firmware and still doesn't sound like the 3G does. Steve Jobs himself had said that the audio had been improved. Not that his word means a whole lot these days.
