heh, unfortunately they are all roughly the same price, give or take a few bucks.. I'd wait until 1.1.3 (macworld maybe?) is released to maek sure it works with them, and maybe theyre will somehow be a software unlock then (though doubt it)

$110.09 is relatively cheap given the fact that a lack of software version of the unlock puts a high demand on hardware unlock methods (Suppy and Demand laws)

However with 1.1.3 comming its highly possible a software solution will come. However software solutions are still high prices ($80-$59) using iPhone SimFree safe method or the free anySIM risky version (confirmed has turned many iPhones to iPod touches)

Unlocking a 1.1.2 OOTB (out of the box) phone is currently impossible with software-only solutions, due to the new 4.6 bootloader. An exploit in this bootloader has been found, but the secpack from 1.1.3 is required to use it. If 1.1.3 introduces a baseband update, the secpack can be extracted from that (if 1.1.3 does not introduce a baseband update, then we'll have to wait until one is introduced).

given the interest in keeping the phone locked, wouldn't apple make sure they don't change the baseband, hence inability to unlock?

There are three parts to the iPhone.

Bootloader = extremely difficult to change, this is causing the problem with unlocking.
Baseband = yes, changeable
Firmware = yes, changeable

Bootloader is flashed at the factory, or if you are really good with soldering (no instructions, voids warranty big time).

Without access to physical piece of the chip, currently not changeable via software.

Seems this are the prices unlockers will have to face in light that unlocking solutions are becoming quite hardware only. By unlockers I also mean myself

bought a next sim card 3 turbo sim from ebay user was called "ronanom" i think anyway he was from ireland got it in 2 days and it worked perfectly it was already programmed it worked on a uk iphone for me and it is said to work on all iphones . so if you are wondering if these x sim card 3 work they work perfectly

Sometimes it pays to be an early adopter. Just like all the gaming consoles, first ones are always easier to modify...so if you have any intent on modifying something you're best bet is to buy it early.

Requires Jailbreak, right!

A couple of questions:
- ALL *Sim solutions still require Jailbreaking, right?
- Therefore as new firmware versions come out, *Sim solutions must re-Jailbreak?
- Jailbreaking is not the same as Unlocking, but still difficult. Does a *Sim solution require using new Jailbreak software, thus take time while it is engineered, in order to install the new firmware?
- Is Jailbreaking available for all current firmware/bootloader combinations?
- Once a *Sim is working, to use a different SIM (while traveling, for example), is a second Jailbreak needed for the different SIM?

I'm just trying to calibrate just how hard all these things are. I think the *Sim solutions are likely to be the best, overall, and hopefully will work world-wide.

And how about the latest Generation 4 Chinese devices with STK support (as per the original Bladox TurboSIM)?

The Turbo only works with some cell providers and so does the other one. The stealthsim works with every cell provider you can think of. When the 1.1.3 come s out from Apple, why even upgrade it if you already have the stealthsim and your phone unlocked already with the 1.1.1 and 1.2.1 version iPhone. Apple and AT&T will be partners for a longtime, that means it will be alongtime until Apple allows other cell providers to use the iPhone.


I read somewhere that the stealthsim sometime soon, if you have your iPhone with the stealthsim unlocked that you will be able to download all kinds of application, icons, wallpapers from the stealthsim server within the iphone.

I have tested all these devices.

The Bladox TurboSIM works with all SIMs

So does the latest 3rd Generation NextSIM and HyperSIM and China3GPP and the one branded "USA AT&T".

The Stealth SIM (the black one) has problems. I have one in front of me now. It's size is a problem with week 47+ iPhones.

I got my stealth sim last week and 2 miniutes later i had a phone that could be used as a phone, my question now is, is it ok to upgrade the firmware to 1.1.3 now that it is out?????
