I wonder if theres an app / tweak that removes the entire "locking" of the iphone screen? so that all i have to do to unlock the iphone is by just touching somewhere on the screen instead of pressing down the home button first and then unlock it?

If the phone is JB'en, you can download through Cydia "A better top to unlock," which will allow you to tap the screen to unlock it. You still have to press the home button, because the phone goes into a stand-by mode.

yes i know about those "touch to unlock" apps, but what i want is to when the phone is on standby mode, all i have to do is to touch the screen and it will go to my springboard without having to first press the home button and then unlock the phone.

Um...you could, of course, simply choose not to lock your phone?

Settings...General...Passcode Lock...turn it off

Now touch the Home button when you phone is 'sleeping' then slide and it's open.

Am I missing something here? You just want to not enter a passcode, right?

that way the screen will always be one, and suck the battery dry :)

i still want the phone to go in standby mode, just want to only touch the screen so that it goes out of standby mode.

My screen is not always on and I just took off my code this morning so I could write you to tell exactly how it's to be done. It still sleeps/goes into standby mode.

If you are impatient, click the button on the top of the phone and it will be in standby mode...or adjust the settings to make it go into standby mode faster:

Settings...General...Auto-Lock....choose anything from 1 minute to 5 minutes and it will go into 'standby' mode automatically after that period.

This seems almost foreign to me because my phone came with a 2 minute 'standby' already set-up and no lock code until I placed one on it.

It's like you are looking for an app or workaround to do things that your phone did when it was fresh from the factory.

Maybe you are asking for somethng different, but you can always put your phone in 'standby' mode with a top-button click (or set it to do it after a chosen time) and you can hit the home button to wake it up and then slide your finger to unlock it. That's the standard way the iPhone works.

EDIT: After re-reading, it seems you want to NOT hit the home button first. There is no way around that, unless...of course, as you said...you leave the screen on constantly.

But is hitting home that much of a hassle? Heck, if you had your way...your iPhone could turn on all the time just from getting jostled in your pocket.
