Unlock UK iPhone

I am going to the UK next week and want to buy a new iPhone and bring it back to Thailand, has anyone managed to unlock a new UK iPhone with the latest firmware?
 
nope, in simple words

i think all you can do is unlock it to any 02 sim card eg pay as you go or a different non iphone o2 contract ....... am i correct there??

but i know for sure its not unlocked to any network :(

Yes that is right it can be activated so it will accept any O2 sim card.

( i did it to my UK iPhone lol)

Ermm no it won't, I tried multiple o2 SIMs, both Pay&Go and Contract, none work except the iPhone SIM card once the phone is activated, so God knows how you managed that.
 
Visual Voicemail won't work.. O2 will only provision Visual Voicemail on an iPhone Contract.. They're not stupid.

Hi All,

I'm new to this forum and had a query on the iphone.

I'm getting my iphone from California and want to use it on O2 in the UK. Will this jailbreak from conceited software do the job? I'm guessing iphone from the US is now running the same bootloader (4.x) and software as the UK iphone (1.1.2).

Any ideasss???? Please help!

Can you provide more details on which version you unlocked? Was it 1.1.2 with bootloader 4.x?

I want to find out if the link above for conceited software works on 1.1.2 with boot loader 4.x.. Any idea if it does?

Yes it should work fine on a US OTB 1.1.2

US and UK OTB are both 1.1.2 and BL 4.06 now.

since i am an extremely stupid blond i have downloaded the info to unlock the iphone to any o2 sim but dond know in what order i open the files not computer literate in any way so any help would be much appreciated!!

I am also slightly confused, anyone got a very simple guide that means i could literally go to the apple shop, buy the iphone, get it home and unlock it for pay&go 02 or contract o2 (only o2 if im correct)

Any help much appreciated.

Alos quick question. Whatever method this is, will i still be able to install firmware updates in the future? Or will i have to wait untill another hack comes out ?

If apple don’t upgrade to 1.1.3 in the next 2 weeks you can have my UK 1.1.2 iPhone unlocked to O2 pay as you go (with 30 quid of credit) for 270 quid, I will get a US iPhone 1.1.1 unlocked to any sim so that I can use it in Thailand
 
Help me please!!!

I just bought a uk i phone version 1.1.2

Iv read that you are able to unlock it so that it will work with any o2 sim card (ie. pay as you go etc)

Can somebody please tell me how to do this???pleasseee helppp:confused:
 
sim solution

Hey guys not sure if you know but there is a sim solution that I can confirm works on the latest US iPhones. You basically slide a sim cloner in with your carriers sim card and boom it works as Jobs would say.

I had to do this to get the phone to work in HK and the cards are not expensive (people online are making enormous mark ups on these things) but the only issue is that in HK I can't find a cloner that will work for the O2 phones. Can anyone find these in the UK at a good price as I would love one to unlock my spare UK iphone!!!

Anyway I hope I have shed some light on the problem and if anyone has a source for the UK stealth sim's please PM me.
