Hi, I'm new here (and to the apple thing in general) and I was wondering if you can help. I recently got myself an iphone 3g from hong kong and it already allows me to use it on any carrier, so i dont think i need to unlock it. From the research i've done, i dont think there is any out there at the moment anyways. My question is, what do i need to do to be able to use 3rd party apps? Since my phone is not locked to a particular carrier, would using the jailbreak tools like winpwn or pwnage tool affect it, such as not allowing me to use other carriers? is there some way for me to restore or backup the iphone? Any positive help is appreciated

Cheers

You can buy and use any apps from Apple's App Store without jailbreaking.

If you want to use the apps Apple doesn't want you to use, you have to jailbreak.

so after i jailbreak it i can still use any carrier?
