iPhone Unlocked iPhone 3GS with gophone SIM card

Ok so I got my dad an iPhone 3GS that is permanently unlocked via AT&T unlock. It works with his gophone sim and he had unlimited go phone data. But it doesn't work with the iPhone. How do I set up the 3GS to work with the gophone data?? It's a 3GS with iOS 6.0.1. Thanks for the help and happy holidays to u all!!
