Looking to replace my old iPhone 6 Plus with either the XR or XMax soon. I’m currently with Cricket Wireless so need a unlocked phone. I’ve been looking at Black Friday sales on iPhones but all of them require activation with the major carriers to get the gift cards. Anyone know if there will be any sales on phones for my situation? Thanks.

You’re not going to find any deals on a new unlocked iPhone. Trust me, I have Cricket too and I know the struggle. Just know that you’re saving more on your monthly plan than the value of those deals.

Carriers goal is to increase / retain their customer base and thus tailor most of their phone promos towards that -- the common mechanism is offering some $$$-off deal but spreading it out over 24 or 36 months so you stick around.

I'm in the same boat, on att prepaid. it really sucks, i love iphones so much but they've become so costly over the past 2 years, which leaves me to look for a nice used x, or another phone i guess. I'm really impressed with the new oneplus6t, the specs on that phone are absolutely insane for only $550 brand new! but i would miss ios so so much. i dont know what to do yet.
