Hi again - I have (thanks to this forum) an unlocked, jailbroken iPhone that I activated from new using iLiberty and it uses my std £15/month o2 sim - it all works great but..

on checking my o2 bill it would appear that the iphone uses a small amount of mobile data over the edge / GPRS network every day. Usually very early in the morning - it's not my own usage and anyway I only use data over wi-fi as I don't have a data package on the £15 / month contract.

it's only a few bytes - 3 - 10 typically - but it is every day and works out around £6 - £7 per month. Turning data roaming off won't help as it isn't roaming - i just want it to stop using data connection.

any ideas on this? - which app is likely to be checking in? can boss prefs help me here or does it just switch edge off (i only tend to get plain old GPRS around my home)

thanks in advance

thats great - so the Boss prefs 'edge' setting must be the data usage on edge & GPRS..

I'l switch it off for a few days and check back on the 'Myo2' site - which seems fairly up-to-the-minute in terms of calls / text / data usage.

thanks again.

any ideas what it is that is using this tiny data amount?
