Unlocked once, always unlocked?

Hello,

I use the Pwnage tool to do the works to my phone. My question is, everytime I restore my phone with the custom firmware, do I have to flash the baseband and bootloader? Or can I make a custom firmware that doesn't bother with all that? Or will everytime I restore with the old custom firmwae, it will recognize that it has already been flashed.

Basically, once Bootneuter does it's thing the first, it never has to do it again right?

I ask this because the "autodelete bootneuter.app" option didn't work, and I don't like having that app hanging around, especially when friends ask to have a look at my phone.

Yep, should remain intact for ever. I didn't want a jailbreak so I reflashed a custom firmware with only the activate checked. My phone was still unlocked.

Do you know if there's a way to uninstall bootneuter without a restore? Or is a restore without the Bootneuter app the only way. As installer doesn't list the app.

That is not strictly correct although for most purposes it would be!

The unlock will remain as long as you DON'T update - if you update to 2.0 before an unlock is released then it will be locked again. Downgrading firmware (not that you should need to but the unlock will survive that as well).

It obviously survives restores as well.

The bootloader and the bootloader neuter should survive all future update without having to wait for an unlock but without an unlock the neuter doesn't help!

Having said that the unlock is very simple now with bootneuter so an update to pwnage for 2.0 should come out very soon after its official release.

Remmeber that if you want the phone back to factory settings you have to relock and un-neuter using bootneuter THEN restore back to 1.1.4 official firmware.

Cool thanks. I was kind of apprehensive, since I know that flashing too much can cause damage, and just wanted to make sure I didn't have to do it everytime.
