I recently unlocked my iphone 3g through yellowsn0w to be used on t-mobile. However, I am unable to turn off my data (EDGE). I go into settings and toggle the data on/off but the "E" up on the menu bar never goes away. Can anybody help me? I used Quickpwn (MAC) to jailbreak it. Thanks!

It doesn't. This has been known for a while.

How did you "toggle the data on/off"? I didn't think it was possible to turn data off entirely with a switch, only disable the 3G portion (leaving GPRS/Edge enabled). One option to disable data entirely would be to delete/mangle the APN settings in Settings -> General -> Network -> Cellular Data Network. That *should* stop Edge and GPRS working I believe.

Thank you guys for the confirmation.

I had unlocked my iphone 3g using a universal SIM before and I was able to turn off the EDGE.
