I was locked by AT&T, jailbroke my phone and ran yellowsnow. However, I have not completed the SIM switch because I am not sure exactly how that works. Right now I am still under contract with AT&T and am on an International roam plan (which is aweful). I still have my US number but I want to cancel my US plan and get an Orange plan.

But if I take out my AT&T SIM is this going to immediately kill my current phone number and coverage? Don't I need an Orange contract to get Orange service with my new SIM, or do I need to get a new contract before I do anything? I am confused on how exactly this works and everything I have read just says to switch SIM cards and wait for the coverage...but how am I going to get coverage without a new contract or number and how does this effect my current plan and coverage. Any help is greatly appreciated.

anybody??

is this a dumb question? can't find an answer, any help greatly appreciated.
