Unlocking 3g with 2.2.1 with baseband 2.30

I just got my phone replace by the apple store. They gave me a new iphone with 2.2.1 and baseband 2.30. I want to Jailbreak and Unlock it. I been reading a lot and keep reading that you need to downgrade the baseband to 2.28. This tutorial doesnt say anything about downgrading baseband. Can I just follow this tutorial to unlock and jailbreak my iphone?

I have windows vista btw and don't have access to a Mac

Tempted on trying it

I am tempted to try the guide I posted. It says nothing about baseband and usually iclarified warns you on what not to do and when not to do it.
