Unlocking Factory installed 3.1 3G?(Jailbroken) i need to unlock my iphone. Help please

there is no current unlock for a 3GS. there might never be if you were never jb/unlock before. but they are working on it. your shsh file needs to be onfile with saurik i believe.

Actually I JB my 3GS 3.1.2 with Blackra1n tonight. It worked great and Cydia is now installed.

Jailbreak != unlock. You can jailbreak 3.1.x official, but the 5.11.07 baseband has not been unlocked, and any unlock is probably months away (if it ever happens...Dev Team does not seem hopeful).

This is way off. The SHSH file allows you to downgrade your firmware (but not baseband) to previous versions that Apple is no longer signing. And previous jailbreaking ensures that you will be able to jailbreak in the future provided that you do not update to an official firmware in between. Neither of these has anything to do with jailbreaking 3.1.2 stock, which can be done using blackra1n or Pwnagetool 3.1.4. Nor do they have anything to do with a carrier unlock for the 5.11.07 baseband, except insofar as it will undoubtedly be necessary to jailbreak before applying any unlock the Dev Team develops.
