Unlocking from 2.1 to 2.2 - Sorry, i always get confused with so many threads ...

I am using an 2G iphone unlocked with pwnage etc. I am at 2.1 and im scared to bricking my phone.

Anyone point me directly to a 'how to' go to update to a 2.2 using QUICKPWN as iphone dev team advise?

Ive downloaded pwnagetool_2.2 and quickpwn_2.2

Most straight forward / safest way?

i clicked update in itunes and all seems perfect.

If you just hit Update in iTunes, it will keep your Unlock but it won't be jailbroken anymore. If you still want to jailbreak, just use QuickPwn and it is pretty easy from thereon.

If however after hitting update in iTunes it relocks the SIM, you can still use QuickPwn to unlock and jailbreak. But, if you just want the Unlock and not the jailbreak, do the 2.1 pwning again and hit Update in iTunes.

Thanks! I did a standard update via itunes and its updated the phone and it remains UNlocked. Yes, i think the jailbreak side of things arent there but thats not relevant to me from my understanding.

If you guys just update your going to loose space on your phone because of the way Cydia moves things around when it is reinstalled.

You need to download the update without installing, then choose "RESTORE". I got 1gig of space back.

Maybe I should never leave my home because im scared i might fall off the edge of the world? I wonder whether anyone has ever found out if the world really is flat or round?
