Unlocking iphone 1st gen

I bought my iphone 1st gen almost 2 years ago jailbroken and unlocked in Canada but it came from us (atnt iphone). It worked fine but now i mistakenly restore it in itunes and cant activate it anymore and use it with canadian carries since i do not have a atnt contract. It only shows the screen with usb cable and itunes icon.

Can somebody please let me know hot to unlock it wout having to go thru itunes. I think it had 2.2.1 preinstalled in it.

You should be OK if you restore it to 3.0.1 and then follow this:
