I followed the steps to get my ip4 unlocked from AT&T via the "restore from itunes" method, however when I go to restore I have to update to iOS 6 and lose my JB. Is there any way to get my phone unlocked using this method without losing my JB?

iPhone 4 has tethered jailbreak for iOS6

Backup your SHSH blobs before updating so you have the option of rolling back to 5.1.1.

First, I would try popping another SIM in. Some people reported that sometimes it didn't require a restore, thus it would be unlocked over the air. If that doesn't work ...

Download iFaith, save your current blobs (this works since you are on an iPhone 4). Then, restore to the current firmware you are on using Tiny Umbrella (you likely are stuck on 5.0.1 since I doubt you updated to 5.1.1 and saved your blobs for it) using your blobs saved from iFaith. This restore should enable the unlock.

1.) He may not want a tethered jailbreak, not to mention it's very early on and not usable on many fronts.

2.) He can't save blobs for 5.1.1, unless he's on 5.1.1 now. He's on 5.0.1, so he can save blobs for that device, however.

You don't need to restore to activate the unlock if you are jailbroken, install SAM from repo.bingner.com in cydia.

Decativate phone in SAM and close SAM in switcher, now connect to itunes and the unlock will be issued.

Now 3 threads on page 1 on this, please people use read first...
