I moved a bunch of photos off of cds and dvds to my hard drive, and as such they are all flagged as locked. They are in thousands of subfolders, some with only one photo in them. Is there a way to easily remove all of the flags in subfolders? This is easily accomplished in Windows (rt. click properties, uncheck read-only, check "apply to all subfolders and files"), so I'm assuming there's a way to do it in Tiger, but I know little about mac os. Thanks.

Select the folder. Press Command + I, or go to File Menu>Get Info. Under "Ownership and Permissions" change it to Read & Write. Click on the arrow beside "Details". Click on the "Apply to enclosed items..." button at the bottom of the window. Hit OK.

Done :)

Hope this helps.

spoke too soon... That method worked on some of the directories, but on others it says I do not have the correct priveleges. huh?

I have the same problems too, especially when copying over Kodak photo CDs. (and sometimes when transferring files from backup CDs burnt on PC machines.)

Hey, *I* took these photos, *I* brought them in on CF card, *I* paid for them to be transferred onto CD (while on holiday)

These photos are MINE, so why are the permissions locked, why am I getting hassle transferring them from the CD onto my PB?
