Ok, so... I've been scouring the forum, and reading the dev instructions on unlocking and jailbreaking my iPhone, BUT... I have questions about the best way to prep my original iPhone 2g for sale.

I am currently using a 3G as my phone and have a 2G that is basically a blank slate. What is the best way to unlock it in regard to the sim card and iTunes? If I'm going to sell it, can I unlock it without installing my sim from my 3G and activating it? Basically.. I just want to unlock/jailbreak it so I can sell it to someone with none of my information on it.

I hope what I've written makes sense... lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!!

Dave

Jailbreak the device on 3.0 using redsn0w. Then download bootneuter through cydia and that will unlock the phone. No sim card required.

SWEET!!! Thanks! I'll give that a shot.

Apparently.... bootneuter is only for the 2.* firmware.. :(

There was an "unlock" option when I ran redsn0w, but it was asking for files I didn't have.
