Yes you can activate it and jailbreak any 2G iphone using Winpwn.

Just be careful to read the instructions first. If you know somebody with a Mac then even better.

The poster likely meant firmware on the iPhone (likely 1.1.4 or 2.0).

sorry for not being specific. i did mean firmware 1.1.4 or 2.0 if it is 1.1.4 then i would use ziphone. if it is 2.0 then use winpwn. try this

I would use Iliberty... It is much safer and won't permanently flash the bootloader.. There has been a lot of problems with Ziphone. Winpwn is good as far as I know.

i can give you an .ipsw file that is 2.0 and unlocked if you want. once you have it, do a shift+restore in itunes (windows) or option+restore for mac and select it and then you will have 2.0 unlocked win win if you ask me...

You can definitely unlock your iPhone...

I believe you mean the Firmware... This thread was in July and since then I have deleted the custom firmware file because I no longer use 2.0. Go to http://www.iclarified.com and search for the iPhone 2g unlock. Make sure it's the right one.

Geeez people I know you guys are new but there is a "SEARCH" button that you can use and type in your question there. It will give you as much answers you need. Also, when you ask these type of question, provide as your firmware and what OS you are using...

As for jailbreaking and unlocking, Use Quickpwn 2.2 (do a search). Here are the things you need to do...

1. Download the 2.2 Restore FW (YouTube is great source for these stuff)
2. Download Quickpwn 2.2
3. Download Bootloader 3.9 & 4.6
4. Download the latest iTunes
5. Restore your iPhone using iTunes to 2.2 and the rest you follow the step by step instructions on youtube
