I have a pay as you go 3GS. I bought it outright £450 from apple, about 5 months ago. I used it with my o2 contract sim in.

My contract is now up and I want to switch to vodaphone..

How do I unlock my o2 3gs :)

Please help xx

Simply fill out this small form on the O2 website and they will unlock your iPhone.

Although if you bought it as a PAYG iPhone I believe you will need to wait 12 months from the date of purchase before O2 will unlock it. As far as I'm aware, this is most likely the situation you will be in?

Yeah only had the phone 5 months so can't use that form... Is there a way to unlock iphones? :O

Yes, but if you read the other thread, you'll see O2 don't seem to be looking to deeply into the details behind the contracts, if you provide an iPhone IMEI and a O2 contract phone number they seem to be unlocking the handsets regardless. It's worth a try, the worst they can do is say no!

The alternative is Jailbreaking the handset, I know nothing about this and you'd probably be better checking the forum specific for that purpose :)

jail breaking is a widely known option. but since we are law obeying people around here i can not tell you how to do that.

"all my iphones are running out in the freedom"

just google: Dev Team and click on the first link you get... :)

Jailbreaking and unlocking is not illegal, Apple and the Networks just dont want you to do it!

Plenty of tuts about anyway, OP just google it....

Follow the "official" unlock route. I had a 2 month old 3GS bought on PAYG and used on my Simplicity contract. I gave them the Simplicity phone number and bingo, unlocked 3 days later :)

This is the best route - once officially unlocked, it will always be unlocked, and updates won't harm it. If you jailbreak and unlock, you may not be able to update or restore in the future.
