Unlocking, Sim card question in Puerto Rico

Hellos, i am new on the forums i started to read some topics since i want to buy an iphone and unlocked in PR. already read about unlocking but i got some questions some are new maybe some i need a better detailed explanation.

Currently i have a 32k sim card obviously with an old contract (account). I am planning to buy a new iphone on ebay or maybe a bette rplace you guys recommend me to buy it online and ships to PR> Well i know i have to get a new sim card but i am not sure if i have to go to att and ask them to get me a new sim card with my actual account and the order the iphone and unlock it and put the the simcard i asked for few days ago with my account and thats all?

Maybe someone point something i will do wrong any other suggestion explain me something suggest me something i dont know you name it. Please if you are gonna answer if you can provide source and if you are sure better anything extra you wanna add is welcome.

Also stick to the topic... some people just wish you bad things and offer other solutions like get another phone forget about it just stay on the topic.

You can activate your iphone in Puerto Rico with the included sim card and without having to unlock it, just as long as you have an att&t account in Puerto Rico. It took me 3 minutes to activate my iphone in Puerto Rico.

Why would it not work? You can legitimately activate and use the iphone in Puerto Rico just like in the United States. No hacking, unlocking or anything else is needed. Buy it on ebay, connect it to itunes, enter the information requested about your att account, use your iphone in Puerto Rico. It really can't be any easier.

Stop wasting your time searching on the net and just buy it. In my office in Puerto Rico there are 5 people using it, including myself without any trouble.

thanks for the info still after reading a lot more i think i will wait for june to see if there is gonna be something new along with the sdk, maybe a 3g iphone or a 32gb upgrade will be good news for the future then i know i can wait some more months for something better i think i will use the insurance to get a backup phone meanwhile. still if someone knows the answers to the question without assuming i can activate it legally it will be good knowledge for me.
