Hi all,

A friend of mine is getting the new 3G Iphone tomorrow. He is currently on ATT.

I plan on buying his old phone and using Ziphone to unlock and jailbreak it so I can I can use it on Tmobile. I beleive he is currently on version 1.1.4.

I searched all over and I am unable to find any information about unlocking a used Iphone that has already been activated on ATT.

Is there anything special I need to do or do I just follow the prompts for activating and unlocking through Ziphone?

Thanks!

im pretty sure its a better idea to unlock it w/ iliberty+ or ilibertyx

if u use iliberty theres an option that allow u to uncheck "activate phone"
also, the bootloader of iliberty is MUCH safer since it doesnt permanently change the bootloader.

Do not use ZiPhone. It is unsafe and very unstable and can permanently damage your iPhone.

Thanks for the advice. However, I know plenty of people who have used ziphone without any issues. I have also seen it done myself so I feel more comfortable with it compared to other unlocking programs.

That being said, do I still need to 'activate' the phone? Is there anything special I need to do or do I just follow the prompts for activating and unlocking through Ziphone?

Thanks again!

Listen

some people jus dont listen, you came on here asking for advice then someone gives you some, and you throw it back in there face. sorry to be so rude but the advice they gave you was god advice.

ive used pwnage tool, winpwn, ziphone, ibrikr and iLiberty+ and i found iLiberty to be the best, all the others are either patchy or with pwnage tool mac mac hates my iphone and my windows pc crashes when i plug it in.

go for iLiberty mate

so if you have already used ziphone 3.0, you are screwed?

ziphone worked fine, but i am finding my sms doesnt work at all. meaning i can write it, send it, it records, but the sms is never received. same goes for anyone who sends me an sms, i never get it.

anyone have any advice?

No offense Ollie but I appreciated their input. However, the advice I was looking for had to do with specific Ziphone settings. Not, "what unlocking tool should I use?"

I was not throwing anything back in anyone's face. However, the opinions did not answer my original question about activating the phone with "ziphone".

If anyone has any input about my original question, I am all ears. As always, all input is appreciated.
