Unreal Tournament 2004 LAN

hey guys,
im new to the mac scene and i recently got one for university. i got UT2004 and i wanna play it with my friends during class. so my first question is, can i play with my friends even though im on a mac and their on a pc? and secondly, how do i host a lan game?

question 1 : yes you can play them

question 2: i think theres a choice on the main menu that says host game
