Is there some issue with using CapsLock to select weapons in this game?

I copied my user.ini from my Windows machine. All the other relevant settings seem to work just fine. However, no matter what I do the CapsLock key acts like it doesn't exist in this game.

Here's the relevant entry in user.ini:

CapsLock=SwitchWeapon 4

Anyone have any ideas? This is killing me - literally, I can't get my Shock Rifle out fast enough to save me from an oncoming Manta :D

I sent an email about this to support@destineerstudios.com and got this response:
Unfortunately, you cannot bind the Caps Lock key in the Mac port of UT2004 due to a technical limitation.

Bummer.

Getting close to using a Boot Camp setup to boot into real Windows to play this game.

I wonder if there's a way to remap a non-essential key (for the game) to the Caps Lock position with some kind of hack or 3rd party driver at the OS level?

More weirdness: When continuously firing the plasma bursts in the Manta it seems to stall after every eight shots fired. The sound of the eighth shot is strained. It appears OK, but it's a little odd and distracting.

Yes, there is! I went to keyboard preferences and swapped the Option and Caps Lock keys. Then I programmed the keys in the game's setting menu and it works like a charm.
