Added an item from Finder to Dock. It is a network path to private NAS (let's call it NAS-Dock item).
The bug appears when the NAS is not turned on and a Question Mark is displayed at Dock.
The bug is:
When I change from internal to external display/screen the resolution will change and the screen needs to be refreshed in the correct resolution.
What happens: Background of Desktop becomes the color Black (no background picture is shown) and Dock is on wrong position (and not accessible/workable). After 30 seconds the Background picture appears and Dock's position is set to the correct position.
When the NAS-Dock item is removed from Dock then it works correctly.
Conclusion and bug:
a (link to a) not accessible network path in the Dock will freeze the refresh (Dock and Background) for about 30 seconds when a resolution refresh is needed.
