Hi everyone,

Since updating ti 12.1 I have been having this issue of unresponsive scrolling. What happens is let's say I'm scrolling in safari and I'm continuously scrolling, sometimes my finger won't register the scrol, the screen will not register my finger at all.

This happens also when I scroll then tap the screen to stop the scrolling but my finger is not register so the scrolling just continues until I tap again.

I put this in the iOS section because it's happening on both my Xs max and my new 12.9 iPad Pro so I am assuming is an iOS issue and not a device issue.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on how to fix it?

The easiest thing to do is to restart the phone and see if that helps.

I haven't seen that on my 6s, but now that you mention it, I'll keep a close eye out on safari.

I’m seeing something similar on the iPad Pro 11”. Mostly replicated with the Safari back button:
Browse a forum thread.
Hit back button and touchscreen doesn’t respond to scrolling.
Lift finger then it responds.

Restarting fixes for awhile.

Doesn't respond if you start scrolling right after hitting the back button, or even if you wait a moment to allow the page and everything related to load again before scrolling?

I have the exact same problem, but mostly in the Facebook App

Right, even if I wait for many seconds it will not scroll.

However, does scroll with Apple Pencil (2nd gen).

Finger = does not scroll
AP = scrolls

I'm also seeing this mostly on apps compiled with the old SDK (Facebook and Instagram being the major culprits). Facebook has reverted to the old SDK for some reason (probably compatibility to old phones running old iOS versions) and with that it broke the experience for those using new phones.

Well the 12.9” 2017 Ipad pro has a widespread issue with touch not working intermittently.
Thousands of users are experiencing it, but somehow Apple has been able to make the issue stay under the radar.
But since you are seeing it on your XR as well, you are probably seeing another issue.

What iOS are you in? I’m still on 12.0 on my 6s Plus not sure if I should update to 12.1.2. I’ve been having battery drain problems.
