Hi, I just un-boxed my new AirPods Pro today after ordering it online from Best Buy. I was really excited and, as normal, explored the new features such as the Noise Cancellation, Transparency Mode, and Force Sensor as opposed to the previous Touch Controls on the older generation AirPods. However, as I was doing so, I realized that my left AirPod Pro's Force Sensor wouldn't respond to my touch. I readjusted my finger on the AirPod thinking that I wasn't pressing it correctly or maybe the AirPod wasn't fit correctly, however after countless adjustments it still ceased to work, despite the fact that my right AirPod was working completely fine.

During the time I was adjusting the left AirPod and trying to get the Force Sensor to respond, I started to notice that it would, at random, switch from Noise Cancellation mode to Transparency Mode. To clarify, it only switched from those two modes in very sporadic intervals. I have made sure not to use excessive pressure as to accidentally damage the sensor. I have checked my AirPods' settings and found that BOTH left and right AirPods were set to Noise Control and had the exact same settings.

In my extended efforts to try and troubleshoot this issue I researched online, but I couldn't find anyone with the same problem, but I did find tips such as making sure the AirPods Pro's firmware was up to date. I found that it wasn't up to date, and updated it, however that didn't solve the problem.

I also made sure that my AirPod's were completely charged and even reset them and reconnected them to my iPhone, nevertheless, it still didn't work.

This makes me wonder if this problem may have been a hardware malfunction possibly from the factory or even during shipping. Either way, I've not been able to solve this and I am definitely considering returning them.

I would GREATLY APPRECIATE any assistance in this dilemma and hope to find someway to resolve it.

At this point, I remain an avid Apple fan.
Thanks, in advance, for your help!

Why oh why wont Apple let us turn on hold left AirPods Pro to lower volume and hold right to increase volume lol or something similar such a shame, id use the volume method more than switching sound modes >.<

Yeah, or keep one side for play/pause, ANC/transparency and the other side for volume. Squeeze and hold for vol. up & double squeeze, holding on the 2nd squeeze for vol. down. Simples.
