Unresponsive trackpad button?

What is the cause of this is it software or hardware?

I'm puzzled as to how it's possible for it recover overnight so that it's reliable again the next morning.

what is unresponsive about it? tapping, scrolling, dragging?

Mine works and had been working without any issues. only issue i notice is when MBA wakes up from hibernation, trackpad is unresponsive for about a second.

Some people have said it could be due to heat because the problem seems to happen a few minutes after the laptop has been started.
