I have a 7+ that I purchased last March that seems to be losing battery power very quickly. I tested it last night by charging it to 100%, turning off all background apps and leaving it on unplugged overnight. In the morning after 8 hours it read only 72%. Used to be that such an action would produce minimal, if any battery power loss. Anyone have a suggestion or an observation? I see a potential visit to the Genius Bar ahead before my warranty expires.

Thanks!
Dan

I don't find that totally unusual...your phone is almost 1 year old at this point. Before heading off to the Genius Bar, download coconutBattery (Mac) or 3uTools (Windows) to test your battery. Its fundementally the same thing Apple will do but you could end up saving yourself a trip.

These applications will read the battery gas gauge IC and tell you how the battery is holding up against design specs. If the design capacity is lower than 80%, Apple should replace the battery under warranty.
