Today I opened up my 6 year old Macbook air for cleaning and replacing the foot pad that keeps falling off, I noticed an unused connector, similar to those you would find on iPhones for display connectors, illustrated below, (ignore red markings, just a random image from google..)

he port is just to the right from the red square. any ideas what it's purpose could be? It bugs me that there's an unused connector.. hoping its for time travel but lets not get ahead of ourselves
