Stats: iPhone 13, iOS 18.1.1. Already tried rebooting. Probably several iOS updates since this started.

Last April I went on a cruise ship 'Viking Star'. Naturally I made use of the WiFi and had an iPad with me as well.

Since that time, whenever I am in a coffee shop location for example and I want to use their WiFi, I *always* get 'Viking Star' as the SSID offered even though I've already clicked on the one I want from the drop down list of all SSIDs within range. Very annoying as I proceed to enter the password and it then fails to connect, naturally.

I've looked in the saved networks area and nothing remotely like that name is in there. Am I overlooking something obvious here?

Thanks for any suggestions.

In Settings > Wi-Fi, press the Edit button top right. The network 'Viking Star' does not appear in the list of Known Networks?

???

Anyway...

Did you go into Passwords app and look under Wifi? Guessing that the SSID is tied to a managed service (ala. "attwifi" is available to all ATT customers when an ATT hotspot is nearby). Should be able to swipe away the Viking entry if present.

For example, believe the first entry is what one gets at McDonald's (I had to have a guilty pleasure of the McRib when it was back last month), and something similar might be going on with Viking (ATT, T-Mobile, Verizon, other big cellco; satellite?).

Correct. But then why is that list different to the one navigated from the Passwords->WiFi route where I did find it?🤷‍♂️
