unwanted updates

I have several apps that I do not want to update because they now contain advertising that they did not have initially. Is there a way to keep them from appearing when I use iTunes to check for updates from the app store?

Do you think developers toil with these apps out of kindness for their fellow iPhone users?

If it is free, count on ads. If you pay for the developers efforts, then you deserve ad-free and have a basis for complaint.

I for one feel seeing ads to be a very small price to pay for some of the functionality these free apps give me. And, I even visit these ads on occasion, they teach me about new apps or other products I might be interested in.

Ads are fine for those who think they are, but we need a little honesty here. When a developer releases an 'ad free app' then uses the feedback from users to improve his app then adds ads he should share the profits with all of his testers.

This is VERY prevalent with the free versons of apps where an update further hinders the free version
