I'm considering buying a 24" iMac, is it wise to buy now or wait until they are next upgraded?

The next iMac update is rumored to be a price reduction, due in the fall.

I wouldn't be expecting an actual update until early 2010 when the Arrandale chips comes around.

If you need a machine, go for it...but if you are just considering it and you could wait a few months, then wait because it will be worth it.

I agree. If the iMacs get updated in Fall, it will only be minor updates. The major updates will be next year in spring.

I need one pretty badly, as my Windows computer is getting worse with each day. Thanks for the info guys.

There has also been rumors of a price drop in the fall if you can hold out a few months. Although, if nothing comes, you'll kick yourself for waiting since it will then make more sense to wait a little more till early 2010...such a dilemma, waiting for Apple updates:p

Yeh, that's the thing I hate about Apple products, that in at least a year your product will be outdated. But money isn't a real issue so I'm just going to get a bog-standard 24" iMac I think.

I highly recommend the ATI card then if you are buying a 24".

Why would that be then?

edit: And all I can see are NVIDA cards on the Apple store....

Ah no gaming for me, just photography and a touch of film-editing and general everyday use etc.
