Up- and Downgrading From Panther Preview ?!!?

i was just wondering if it was possible to downgrade from the panther preview back to jaguar without losing any data and keeping all configs.?
And of course if it was possible to upgrade from any panther preview to the final release?!

just to be on the safe side, would you not want to install ANY, and I mean ANY pre release OS to an external HD, that would be ok if the disk became corrupt or there was some other issue?

then it would be easy to upgrade & downgrade, simply re-format the disk

Panther previews do not contain any code to downgrade. You need to reformat and use backups to reinstall your files. The installer states in no uncertain terms that you will not be able to upgrade from the preview to the final release. So basically NO.
