Up arrow symbol at the top right of the screen

what is with the almost gif like up arrow that pops up on the top right corner of the screen if the shift button is held for more than a couple of seconds?

Could it be a caps lock indication? I see you have a Bluetooth keyboard; it might be a keyboard-specific action. Actually, my Bluetooth keyboard shows it, too, and it IS a caps lock indicator!
