I always see these large list of games in the gamespot forums about upcoming titles for X platform, which got me thinking, what upcoming titles do we Mac gamers have to look forward to?

Off the top of my head the most notable titles would be Spore and COD4.

Please don't list Windows games, I'm just curious about games that run in OS X.

I don't think this list will be long, try to surprise me :)

Now that Quake Wars and Fable TLC have arrived, that still leaves me waiting for:

Unreal Tournament 3
Gears of War
StarCraft II
Quake Live
Black & White 2 (still!)
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King (not my thing)
WALL-E (even less my thing)
The Sims 3 (REALLY not my thing)
Magic: The Gathering (SO VERY not my thing)
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Rage and various upcoming big-name Id sequels (coming to Mac, but probably not this year)
Penumbra: Black Plague and Penumbra: Requiem
and lots of other "smaller" but interesting indie titles, such as Jack Keane and more Penny Arcade sequels
and Spore you mentioned

Not necessarily in that order.

I'd add Prey 2, but nothing has been announced for Mac. (Seems like a good possibility though: AFAIK we've gotten every other idTech 4 game, including Prey 1--except for the RoE expansion pack and a Wii-only Resident Evil title.)

I'm into sci-fi as you can tell :) For war games, sports, racing, flight sims and even fantasy, I'm pretty much out of the loop.

This year's Mac gaming news at a glance, by month:

Depths of Peril is coming out for the Mac this week. It's like Diablo, except it's good. ;) Battlestations: Midway is coming out this month (Intel Macs only).

Wow, you did a great job, I didn't realize so many great games are in the works. I tried out that game Penumbra today, that game gives me goosebumps like Doom 3 did, but you gotta play it in the dark and alone of course :)

I wonder if there are any other games you could have possibly missed. I can't believe I didn't mention Starcraft II, that game is at the top of my highly anticipated list.

I've noticed that GoW is about the only FPS game so far, Are there any other FPS games that are worth the money and wasting precious time?!

:apple:

GoW isn't an fps btw but it is one of the few shooters. COD2 is also out for OSX and COD4 is supposed to be coming out shortly. Hope that helps!

COD4 got delayed. UT3 might still be out shortly (Macsoft is still saying Spring).

For 2008, SC2 should not be on the list. Sometime in 2009, at best, is what it looks like. As long as it's as good as SC, SC2 can take as long as it wants before it comes out, as far as I'm concerned.

Both UT3 and Gears of War are coming out for Mac, its just a matter of when :\ And I rly hope Halo 2 is in the porting stage for Mac...

Considering that it's been nearly a year since they were announced, and there have been no official updates ( sure I read a dev blog entry saying part of the delay was legal ), I would say they've quietly gone the way of the dodo.

Such a shame, I was so looking forward to running these on my Mac. It looks like I'll have to wait for Rage, for my fps fix, as long as it's not just another id tech demo.

Flatout 2 is coming to Mac. Thought it needed to be said. The first flatout was pretty fun. Also I really wonder about UT3 and why Macsoft is showing the same old ad about it coming in early08 then spring 08 and still says spring which I guess is spring 09 now. Come on MacSoft get off your butts and let us know whats the status on this one? Why would it take so long fo a Mac version? Heck ppc conversions came this fast.
